The Medical Imaging Core Laboratory supports the imaging needs of the whole center while maintaining its own research focus. The main interest of the team is to image the healthy ageing population. Currently the main themes included neurodegeneration, chronic heart failure, cancer and diabetes.
The neurodegeneration focused on Parkinson Disease and Alzheimer Disease, both of which received national support and international recognition. The Alzheimer Disease team is part of the GAAIN (Global Alzheimer's Association Interactive Network, located in LONI, USC www.gaain.org). The Parkinson Disease group has been previously supported by the National Research Program for Biopharmaceuticals( nrpb.sinica.edu.tw). The chronic heart disease team worked closely with the heart failure center in CGMH, Keelung, dedicating to the heathcare of the local community. The cancer team is part of the proton center in CGMH, Linkou. The team is experienced in head and neck cancer, cervical cancer and brain tumour.
